Norwegian Environmental Toxicology Symposium - March 14-16, 2018 in Longyearbyen, Svalbard

Version imprimable de cet article

We would like to draw your attention to our session on Plastic debris – pathways and impacts in arctic and boreal systems at the Norwegian Environmental Toxicology Symposium (, 14-16 March 2018 in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. A keynote lecture will be given by Prof. Shosaku Kashiwada, Toyo University, Japan, entitled "Transfer of nanoplastics into aquatic food webs".

We welcome contributions that consider the abundance (properties, concentrations), the fate (sources, formation, distribution, transport, degradation) and ecological impacts of plastic debris in arctic and boreal systems. Research from terrestrial, freshwater and marine environments is relevant. The session also aims to address knowledge gaps from an arctic perspective that is currently underrepresented. To communicate this, we will connect to the 6th International Marine Debris Conference in San Diego that will take place at the same time.

Abstracts for oral presentations and posters are invited with a submission deadline of 9 February 2018.
