International Workshop on Organic Matter Spectroscopy 2018

Version imprimable de cet article

We encourage you and co-authors for this last week of intense working to contribute to the WOMS18 workshop

The 4th Workshop on Organic Matter Spectroscopy, WOMS18 will take place on the Porquerolles Island (near Hyères, France) from 23 to 27 October 2018. The WOMS event focuses on the fluorescence spectroscopy analysis of organic matter in the environnement. The scope of the workshop covers both fundamental (advanced signal processing techniques & data analysis) and practical aspects. The challenge is to better connect users needs for environmental applications and to better define the contours of the future developpements and forthcoming advances.

- The registration link to the WOMS18 is open here. You can register now until the 22th August 2018. Please, don’t forget that the number of places is limited to 80 participants.

- Your contributions are expected by the end of May. So, there are a few days left to send your abstract to the WOMS committee (abstract submission). We are also pleased to inform you that your contributions have the possibility to be part of a special issue in "SpectroChimica Acta part. A" (SCA). Don’t miss this opportunity.

- The WOMS18 location is located in South of France, to Carqueiranne site near the
coast (http://www.carqueiranne.fr/). The workshop will take place in the Vacanciel conference center (here)

- More details on the The PARAFAC contest. It is an inter-comparison exercise. Briefly, ten EEMs datasets composed of controlled mixtures, natural water samples, and simulated mixtures will be provided to participants (PARAFAC contest database is actually under construction and will be soon available). Each motivated participant will use his/her decomposition algorithm and the outputs of decompositions will be compared. Obviously, results of this contest will be presented into a paper in SCA with participant names as authors. Please contact R. Redon (redon@univ-tln.fr) or X. Luciani (luciani@univ-tln.fr) to participate in this intercomparison exercise.

We wish you a good week and submission,

Best regards,
Organisation Committee.
